Building WITH God

Scripture
Psalms 127:1
Unless the Lord builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted. Unless the Lord protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good.

Observation
I can work so hard and do so much, but it will not be enough. All the church programs and effort input in won't be enough.

Application
I need to be a part of Gods church building program. I feel like moving forward I need to be full of His Spirit, full of His Word, and prayed up. Walk so close to God that I know what to do.

Prayer
Lord, please draw me close to You, even when I don't want to be close. Wipe away the distractions in my life. May I walk with You.

New Wineskins Awaiting New Wine

Scripture
Luke 5:38. New wine must be stored in new wineskins.
The Lord is stirring my heart like crazy with passion to follow Him. Watching Lonnie Frisbee. Talking to Rick Turner about the Jesus People. Praying in the prayer room and having God download a whole sermon to me in 3 minutes. Our building being approved from the national office. Thoughts and stirrings about J12. Starting a Life Together group last night. Audrey done Home Schooling. New Wineskins awaiting new wine!
Pour It Out Lord. Fill Me. Fill us. And may we be Led By Your Spirit.

A Praising Army

I was reading about the birth of Jesus and noticed the heavenly host praising God. How cool is that? The angelic army praising the Lord. It must have sounded awesome, as in, full of awe. Powerful beings powerfully praising. No idea if it was loud or soft, but I'm sure it was strong. I want to be someone who is in the army of the Lord, and knows how to praise. Praise The Lord needs to be more than a phrase, it needs to be a lifestyle.

Land Ho

Scripture
2 Chronicles 36:21
So the message of the Lord spoken through Jeremiah was fulfilled. The land finally enjoyed its Sabbath rest, lying desolate until the seventy years were fulfilled, just as the prophet had said.

Observation
The pronouncement of judgement that Jerry had foretold finally took place. It was a terrible time for the Jews. However, an interesting comment about the land is found here. Finally enjoyed. It's as though the land, the earth, creation had been paying a penalty for their sin. It seems to be a theme in scripture. I don't think this is just poetic. There really is something here.

Application
Somehow I think first nations get this, a connection to the land. I think the best application for me is to get outside into nature, and be a good steward of our planet. I don't know if it was that we were taken from the dust, and I don't want to get goofy about it, but I wonder.

Prayer
Lord, please help me to be a good steward of our planet.

Lost Treasure

Scripture
Ezekiel 24:16“Son of man, with one blow I will take away your dearest treasure. Yet you must not show any sorrow at her death. Do not weep; let there be no tears.

Observation
Ezekiel will then write that he tells the people this message from the Lord, and then, in the evening his wife dies. Now there is a difficult passage to write any observation for. God takes credit for killing his wife. No long term illness. Just dead. And don't cry about it publicly.

Application
I'm not very motivated to write anything of an application, other than say Please God, don't kill my wife! The only response I have is that there must be more to the story that is recorded here. God is always good. God is love. So it comes as another point of trust, to simply echo Jobs words, though he slay me, yet will I trust Him.

Prayer
Lord, I choose to remember that You are good, and I don't have to fear. I trust you, for You are worthy of trust. Please help me to see this text in a way that does not contradict Your character. Help me through this I pray..
