Great and Old

S - Great men are not always wise, nor do the age always understand justice. Job 32:9

O - Elihu was very upset after listening to Job's friends, and he came out with this accurate statement. He was very respectful as he waited in silence - but then chose to speak. His tone was of one who was frustrated, but there is truth in his observation.

A - I do need to remember that 'older' and 'greater' people may not have the right perspective. I also need to apply this to my life, that just because I am getting older every day, wisdom is not automatic. I am choosing to be more of a reader - learning and growing.

P - Lord, please lead me in wisdom and growth. Help me to be respectful of 'great' and 'older' people, while still being a critical thinker. Help me to love you with my mind, and see things from Your perspective.  Amen.

Born Free

S - So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free. Galatians 4:31

O - There is a significant difference in our inheritance. The child of the slave is a slave, but the child of the free is free.

A - I have inherited FREEDOM when I was adopted into the family of God. I no longer live as a slave, or a beggar, but as a free born son. It does my heart good to think of the freedom I have to serve the Lord, and enjoy the 'wide open spaces' of freedom, instead of the restrictive confines of the law. Living free because I was born free - a great way to be.

P - Thank you Lord for adopting me, and declaring the moment I was born (again) that I was a free born son. I was first born a slave to sin, now born again to a new life of freedom and joy. Help me live in my inheritance!
