S ~ And the words of Esau her older son were told to Rebekah. So she sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said to him, “Surely your brother Esau comforts himself concerning you by intending to kill you". Genesis 27:42O ~ Esau directed his self pity into hatred. A powerful motivating force. How much better it would have been to repent. Sometimes people are comforted in knowing that someone else will get what they deserve.
A ~ It's so important that I am motivated by love. There is a lot of energy in anger and hurt, but ultimately it is destructive. Love does not rejoice in evil.
P ~ Father, help me to be motivated by what moves you. May I let go of hurt and anger, and live a life of a disciple, not a pharisee.
