Take It To Heart

S ~ Those who are wise will take all this to heart; they will see in our history the faithful love of the Lord. Psalm 107:43

O ~ The psalmist has listed so many things that the Lord has done for Israel, specifically getting them out of tough spots, including passing them through the Red Sea. Time and time again He rescued His people. These are not only stories to recall, but to ‘take to heart’ - remembering the faithful love of the Lord, not just the details of the stories.

A ~ As I read this psalm, I came to the part about the Red Sea. I thought to myself, yeah yeah - the Red Sea - I know the story. God did that for them - and it was great and everything, but kinda like ‘that really doesn’t affect my day’. Unwise. I need to not just know the story, but allow the story to move from my head to my heart, as I meditate on the faithful love of the Lord, and even how He demonstrates His love by rescuing His people. When I take that to heart, it brings joy in my day, and hope for all my days.

P ~ Father God, thank You for Your faithful love for Your people, and thank You for adopting me to be one of ‘Your people’. Your rescuing heroic deeds are innumerable, and Your love knows no bounds, and Your faithfulness is ceaseless.  I am undone. I am full of gratitude. I am wise... for today, I have taken these things to heart.
