Righteous Living

S ~ This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another.  We must not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because Cain had been doing what was evil, and his brother had been doing what was righteous.  So don’t be surprised, dear brothers and sisters, if the world hates you. 1 John 3:11-13

O ~ So don't be surprised if the world hates you. The more righteous we become in our daily lives, the more the world will hate us, because evil deeds hate righteous deeds.

A ~ Righteous, not Self-Righteous. This is the key to making a positive impact in the world. Jesus is our righteousness, and so if there is an increase in our righteousness, there should be an increase in the way we reflect Jesus. The more we become like Jesus, the more the world will hate us (see: crucifixion). However, the more we become like Jesus, the more we will be able to reach the people of the world.

P ~ Lord, please help me to live a life of righteousness, a life that reflects You and Your love. Christ in me, the hope of glory.  Lord I need You, O I need You, every hour I need You. My one defence, my righteousness, O Lord how I need You.
