S ~ Now the people went to Bethel and sat in the presence of God until evening, weeping loudly and bitterly. Judges 21:2
O ~ Bethel - the place where Jacob first had a dream...the very house of God. They sat in the presence of God. For how amazingly messed up Israel was during the judges, and how horrific the stories have been, this last chapter in the book of Judges opens with a powerful picture ~ sitting in the presence of God.
A ~ The Israelites were sorrowful because of their own wickedness, but they knew what to do - sit in the presence of God. It appears from morning until evening. May I learn from this - to simply sit in the presence of God... and see what happens.
P ~ Lord, please teach me how to sit in Your presence.
