I Won't Share a Strand

S ~ Abram replied to the king of Sodom, “I solemnly swear to the Lord, God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth,  that I will not take so much as a single thread or sandal thong from what belongs to you. Otherwise you might say, ‘I am the one who made Abram rich.’ Genesis 14:22-23

O ~ It was quite important to Abram to make sure that God got the credit for his accumulation of wealth. He would not share God's glory with the king of Sodom - not even one strand of glory.

A ~ And that's why I don't need to buy a lottery ticket!  I surely would not want my life to point to is the lottery as my source.  "Just look to the lottery and your needs will be met". I want my life to point to my heavenly Father. He is my source of provision. Every good gift comes from Him.

P ~ Lord, when I get distracted about how to increase income, may You help me recalibrate the scales in my life, bringing me back to simply having my eyes on you - just like the sparrows who neither sow nor reap, but You provide for. Thank You for Your continued provision.
