O ~ This appears to be the same verse that Paul writes in Ephesians 4:26, but with a different insight. He writes "And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry." Initially, these two seem to contradict each other, but they do not.
A ~ In Genesis sin is crouching at the door - in the form of anger, wanting to control Cain. Anger wants control. It is powerful, and it's desire is to rule. Settle the control issue before the sun goes down - don't go to bed while anger is in control. Once that it settled, don't act quickly. Take time, even overnight, to think about how to proceed. And above all, keep thy mouth shuteth.
P ~ Lord, when I am angry and open my mouth, bad things happen. Please help me to win the control battle with anger. Help me to not let anger control my mouth or my heart or my thoughts. I give them all to You. Jesus, take the wheel :)
