O ~ JTB recognized that more than repentance was needed. People needed to be baptized in water, and baptized by the Spirit. John could do one, but he could not do the other.
A ~ It's interesting that we get to the Baptism of the Holy Spirit within the first 8 verses of the gospel of Mark. Only eight verses in and we are already hearing of this baptism. It is so essential - and it is not anything that a human can do. Even though I have prayed for people to receive this baptism, and they have... it is not me doing the baptizing. One of our key points of the Foursquare Gospel is that it is Jesus who is the baptizer. Without Him doing it, it was, and is, not going to happen.
P ~ Lord, I want to be found faithful doing what I can do - but I know that is not enough. Our world needs You do to what only You can do. Please pour out Your Spirit on me, my Dree, my kids, my church. Only You can do that. I look to You.
