Number My Days - The Work of My Hands

Saturday morning and I am up and at em, on my way shortly to men's breakfast. I invited a friend to come a long, but he cannot. May the Lord grant him strength and grace as he goes about his day. Instead of heading out the door quickly this morning, I have taken the time to slowly read the daily readings for today, to sit by my happy light, and to journal. I was pleasantly surprised this morning to discover after one day of diet, I am down 2lbs. The problem was that with my week off, I went up 5; still a +3 problem.
Today Tiffany Schollaardt will marry Ben. Pastor Chris will perform her first ceremony, that being to marry her daughter. An amazing experience I am sure. May God's presence be evident to everyone, and may He minister to and through Chris. What an amazing lady! So many times she portrays herself as so tender, but there is a real strength of character, determination and not just will, but willingness. Good for her.
Today I noted the following verses:
So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom. And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, And establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands. (Psalms 90:12, 17 NKJV)
I am mindful of numbering my days. I guess I have been doing that lately - thinking about how old I am and how little I have accomplished. And how I am trying to not live in the past, or the future, but in the present. And in the that, to ask the Lord to establish the work of my hands - that the things I set my hands to would be productive, effective, and worthwhile.
I want to be sensitive to others today, and let the super-natural take place as I 'look and listen' for what God is doing.
